What is the Teaching Content?

During the Discovering Me Healing Retreats key biblical principles are shared relating to receiving healing for Mind, Body and Spirit. Topics covered include: acceptance, integrity, forgiveness, love, service, self care and living; understanding and knowing the Father’s Heart and His desire to heal, restore and fill us with His Holy Spirit; the place of spiritual warfare; the importance of making Godly choices; and walking in faith.

What will the Times of Prayer Involve?

Personal sharing and prayer ministry often includes time working through areas of hurt, acceptance, forgiveness, repentance and inviting Jesus to be Lord over these areas of our lives. It can also include identifying the work of the enemy in our lives and overcoming it through the power of our Lord Jesus and Faith.

Unless the Lord decides to transform us on the spot it is not usually possible to deal with a lifetime of problems all at once, however, the goal during our prayer is rather to facilitate and build a foundation in the healing journey, and help you create a significant change in your plan to achieve wholeness by inviting the Lord to be a part of your every day life.

Individual needs and the guidance of the Holy Spirit will assist in knowing what to pray about. There i are also times for personal reflection during our time together as a group and during our free time.

Who are the Ministry Team Members?

All those who minister with Discovering Me Healing Retreats are committed, mature followers of God who have a heart to apply His Word- from their experience and training - God's love, healing and restoration according to the principles found in the Holy Scripture. Shiloh Aadi trough prayer and God’s direction carefully chooses all who minister for the Discovering Me Healing Retreats every year. It should be noted that members of the Discovering Me Healing Retreats are not required to have secular qualifications and are not professionals. Some are pastors or ministry leaders or have accreditation with other godly organizations.

How many of the Discovering Me Healing Retreats will a person see?

The Discovering Me Healing Retreats offer spiritual counseling during the retreat to women one on one, however Shiloh offers coaching and spiritual counseling in Charlotte, NC as well - for couples, men and women. When Shiloh works with couples or men Shiloh works along her spouse. At least one ministry team member will be the same sex as the person seeking help.

Is it Confidential?

Yes. We will not release any details to anyone without your written permission, unless legally obliged to do so.

What are the Results?

God works in different ways with different people. Most people give immediate testimony of significant changes. Many more tell us that improvements were progressive and continued over months or even years after their Discovering Me Healing Retreat.
Nearly everyone testifies to increased faith, strength and hope. For some, deep levels of pain may begin to be touched for the first time, which initially can result in feeling worse. Advice and encouragement will be given on the way forward and followed with a one-hour counseling session with Shiloh after the retreat.

Will it Solve All Problems?

No guarantee can be given of what the Lord Jesus will do in an individual's life during the Retreat. For some there is powerful and complete healing, but for most it is a process, which means a continuing walk with God.

How Much Will it Cost?

Discovering Me Healing Retreat is dedicated to to do all we can to keep the cost down and encourage you to donate to this ministry to make it possible for other to attend. Based on where we host our Healing Retreat every year the cost will fluctuate, however once we sign a contract with a retreat center the prices are locked in and listed under our registrations tab.
We invite those attending Discovering Me Healing Retreats to donate whatever possible towards meeting some of our expenses as ministry leaders and also towards offering scholarships for those who will not be able to attend otherwise.

Where and How do I Register?

An application form for Discovering Me Healing Retreat is located here. After receiving an application we prayerfully consider the needs of the woman joining us. Shiloh and Margie will phone you and welcome you to our retreat personally.

Is There a Waiting List?

Yes, there is once we are full. Our spots fill up fast since we only offer 50 spots. However since we open our registration early, towards the end of our registrations some women cancel, and we are able to offer their spots to other women at the last minute.

How Long is the Waiting List?

Our waiting list depends on how quickly our retreat fills up. It can be between 2 weeks to 6 months. As soon as a spot opens we call you and on average we have between 2 to 100 women signing up to be on our waiting list.

How We Serve the Body of Messiah

Discovering Me Ministries is not a church, but rather seeks to serve the body of Messiah.
Although no formal approval from a church or pastor is needed for attendance on a Healing Retreat, for the best and most effective results, we believe it is right and preferable if the blessing and support of the local congregation is sought.

We do recommend that attendants inform their pastor or small group leader of plans to come on a Healing Retreat. We like to send pastors an information pack and answer any questions they may have about our work. Ideally, Discovering Me Ministries would want to work alongside the local church in helping those who attend the Healing Retreats.

Do Women Come on Their Own?

Most women come on their own. When appropriate a pastoral worker, spouse or friend can be invited for the retreat to act in a caring, supportive role during the meals and free time. The caretaker will not (normally) participate in ministry sessions, or receive prayer for themselves. Care takers are asked to pay a discounted fee (50% to 75%) only.

What is the Accommodation Like?

Our 2015 retreat is located in Tennessee in Roan Mountain on a 100-acre valley surrounded by National Forests.

Roaring Creek tumbles its way over multiple cascades on its way through Fairhaven Ministry's campus. There are several bridges and trails for us to enjoy the natural beauty of this place. In season, wildflowers are abundant in the valley.

In addition to the serenity and beauty that God has created at Fairhaven, the surrounding area is one of the most beautiful in the country.
Within easy driving distance of Fairhaven, there are activities to suit everyone's taste. Hiking the Appalachian Trail and viewing the world famous Rhododendron Gardens on Roan Mountain, antique shopping, sightseeing on the Blue Ridge parkway, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, swimming and boating on nearby Lake Watauga are but a few of the activities that you may enjoy on this retreat and during the quiet afternoons.

The chalets and cottages are tastefully furnished. Each has a gracious living area, a complete kitchen, a full bath-shower combination, a queen-sized bed in the bedroom and two twin beds in the sleeping loft. The queen-size sleeper-sofa in the living room makes it possible for the chalets and cottages to sleep up to six people.

All linens are furnished. The kitchens are fully equipped because we do not provide meals for this retreat, however our meeting area does have a kitchen and we will have some tasty dinners ready for all of us to enjoy. Keep in mind that you will need to bring your food and personal items especially if you have a special diet like Shiloh and Margie (we both eat gluten and sugar free). Supermarkets are located just a few miles from Fairhaven.

A lovely gift shop in the lodge makes for interesting browsing. Many hand-crafted items and Christian books are available. There is a library in the lodge as well as a one hundred book library in each chalet and cottage.
All in all our 2015 retreat portrays a natural beauty that goes beyond the ordinary, a blending of spiritual and physical, a place where your needs will be met by the Lord.

What is the Next Step After the Healing Retreat?

We recommend committed involvement with the local body of Messiah, community service and we also encourage women to receive ongoing pastoral care and ministry wherever this is offered and appropriate.

Your retreat fee covers a one-hour counseling with Shiloh post retreat, and a schedule will be posted during the retreat for you to sign up.

We would especially encourage you to join our Discovering Me Group Online (a link and invitation will be sent to you by us after the retreat) and plug into our community as a child of God and alumni. You will receive encouragement and accountability; have a sounding board and also prayer partners in your new healing journey.
Shiloh’s Walking in Healing Journal book (your retreat book) has a one-year journey guiding you each month trough the Scripture as you journal and continue your healing journey trough 2014. This is a book especially designed as a retreat journal and follow-on for those who participate in our Discovering Me Healing Retreat or those who chose to retreat on their own for a period of time to experience healing for Mind, Body and Soul.
